Helvetica.

I do not even own a dog, but I notice these
signs.

Why do you have to be so legible, Helvetica?

SL 500.

Hit and Run victim.

Gate Monster

Is going to eat you.

Fort Greene

Photo Adventure around Fort Greene/ Clinton Hill.

People throw away TV's out here.

Stoop.

I was headed out to a photo adventure
and came across these Stoop Sitters.

Andy and Sanna pokin' squows.

D'Yer Maker.

The first song off of the first Led Zeppelin
album I have ever listened to.

Now I get to listen to it on Vinyl whenever
I want to.

Crane Hallway Installation: Part Deux.

We added some more cranes. I think it's pretty much finished
now. Check out these pictures.

Dig on them.

Benjamin Townsend.

Ben likes it when I take pictures of him.

The Urban Condition.

Today Ben and I joined Maynard on what ended up being,
in true Maynard fashion, a completely fruitless wild goose
chase with cool imagery and conversation.

So we didn't buy a door, get that door cut up or build a
table out of door parts. But we had an awesome walk
through the Park Slope industrial district. I took some
rad pictures. We dumpster picked something we reckon
can be fashioned into a table and we even managed a
Brunch situation.

The rest of the day was pretty productive. I got in a small
bike ride, cashed my check, saw a lecture on Rebuilding
Haiti and had dinner at a Michigan Themed diner/coffee
house.

Not bad for a Saturday.

Crane Hallway Installation.

What started as Ben's brain child ended up
turning into several "Crane Folding Parties"
and eventually an actual thing that exists
in our hallway. It is not fully complete yet
but I wanted to get a few in-progress shots
on the internet.

More pictures as it progresses.

ECCO Design: Chinese New Years Party

Every year ECCO celebrates the Chinese New Year by throwing
a party in their studio. Awesome spread of food and characters.
I brought Merril to the party and on the way up the stairs I ran
into Karim Rashid and his super model wife. We introduced
ourselves and then later I talked to Merril about why he is
relavant.

I partied a little hard. But it was totally right in that context.

Motorino

Some official governing body of "Best foods in the world"
has graded Motorino right here in Crooklyn as the 2nd
best pie in the world.

Rachel Ray likes it too.

It was alright, but theres a lot to be said for a Tower pizza
after a hockey game or slice from the Detroit Pizza Factory
in the middle of a night ride.

Bendable Posable.

I walked up to Lafayette Coney Island
and didn't even notice that the building
next to it was half demolished until I
went by it on the People Mover.

And yes, I was riding the People Mover
to be ironic. I had nowhere to go and all
the time in the world to get there.

Eph's Delicatessen.

Of course you are not open at noon on a day when Winter
Blast has drawn 100's of people 30 yards away to Campus
Martius.

You know I love your corned beef too much to hold this
against you.

The Broad.

Snuck back into Detroit on my
weekend tour of the Midwest.

Man I miss those streets.

Ben's Cycle and Fitness/Milwaukee Bicycle Company

I have ordered a few exotic components
from Ben's Cycle before and since I had
a few hours to kill in Milwaukee before
my flight out, I though I would check out
their shop. I was fairly impressed by their
collection of rare track components and
frames. There was an old Bianchi hanging
up in the back with a celeste carbon disc.
I also got to check out the MBC frames
in person. I am really impressed by the
level of detail work they pull off. All of
the logos are laser cut steel that is brazed
on and then polished after painting. Way
more beautiful than traditional stickers.

I bought some shirts, shot some shit and
copped some stickers.

If you are in town, swing on by.

Milwaukee.

Wayne Campbell: So, do you come to Milwaukee often?
Alice Cooper: Well, I'm a regular visitor here, but Milwaukee has certainly
had its share of visitors. The French missionaries and explorers began visiting
here in the late 16th century.
Pete: Hey, isn't "Milwaukee" an Indian name?
Alice Cooper: Yes, Pete, it is. In fact , it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which
is Algonquin for "the good land."
Wayne Campbell: I was not aware of that.

Rental Car.

2009 Pontiac G6 Sedan.

Trek rented me a car that I could use for a day and then
never have to see again. I am reminded of Helena Bonham
Carters monologue in Fight Club about bridesmaid dresses.

I loved it intensely for one night and then threw it away.

Texture.

Imperfect surfaces make for the most perfect visual memories.

Clinton Thrill.

It snowed 14" the night before my Jet Set
weekend. I was on my way out the door to
a show in Williamsburg when my roommates
beckoned me up to our roof. The view was
more than worth the soggy socks.

Plus, It allowed me to time the G Train
perfectly.

Pretty cool looking intersection.

Maynard went as Ben to Halloween.
